This code unlocks your phone from a Simlock or Netlock.

Simlock means: your phone works only with the sim card which was given when buying a mobile phone (prepaid package)

Netlock means: your phone works only with the sim cards of a network operator, just like with T-Mobile cards.

So you can check whether your phone has a Simlock or Netlock:
